CPS Social Studies Curriculum Focus
Cincinnati Public Schools is proud to implement a rigorous and engaging K-12 Social Studies curriculum. Our curriculum is aligned with Ohio state standards, and we continuously reflect and improve our curricular resources to ensure that students can see themselves and other cultures in their social studies classes.
The Social Studies department develops a curriculum that includes lessons addressing multiple perspectives, to ensure equity, representation, and anti-racism. We recognize that for many years, curricula have largely excluded the history and lived experiences of groups of Americans, and that the history of racial inequity has had a significant and lasting impact on American society. This necessitates exploring histories and stories that provide a broader and more holistic view of history and the world today.
