7th & 8th Grade Student Council

Open to all 7th grade students. Meetings held monthly on the second Tuesday. The first meeting is Tuesday, November 9, 2021, in Room 942.

Club will provide students with leadership skills and incentives.

Art Club Jr. High

Club Advisor: Ms. Shrout
Open to all 7th & 8th grade students. Meetings will be in Room 937.
The first meeting will be on Thursday November 18, 2021. The club will meet on Thursdays thereafter. Future dates will be on Schoology — Dater Student Hub.
Time: 3–4:15 p.m.
Students will work on murals for the school. Will have guest speakers and community artists visiting the club. Participating in community activities.

Art Club Sr. High

Club Advisor: Mr. Reader
Open to all 9th–12th grade students. Meetings will be held in Room 1535.
The first meeting on Tuesday November 23, 2021, will meet bi-weekly on Tuesdays thereafter. Dates will be posted on Schoology — Dater Student Hub

Students will create art for the "Dater gallery showcase." We will have visiting artists and guest speakers meet with the club. 

Board Game Club

Club Advisor: Mr. Lehnert
Open to all students in grades 7–12. Meetings will be held in Room 2617.

Time 3:15–4:15 p.m.
The aim is to introduce students to co-ed games, both playing and design, and to offer students opportunities to practice critical thinking, teamwork, collaboration and communication.

Dater Community Club

Club Advisor: Mr. Brooks
Open to all students in grades 7–12. Students will engage in discussion regarding current events that affect the community.
Meets weekly on Wednesdays. The first meeting is Wednesday, November 17, 2021, in Room 926.

El Puente ESL Club

Club Advisor: Ms.  Molleston
Open to all students in grades 7–12, specifically English Learners. Meets monthly on Wednesday in Room 1644.
Time 3-3:30 p.m.
Students will be given support and share culture for going to the next step in life.

French Club

Club Advisor: Madame McDermott
Open to all students in grades 7–12. Meets biweekly on Thursdays, in Room 1642.
Time 3–4 p.m.
Students will dive deeper into the French culture and watch French films.

Freshman Class

Club Advisor: Ms. Miracle
Open to all 9th grade students. Meets the first Wednesday of each month, Room 2515

Students will be assisting with events, running for election and providing service projects.

Gardening Club

Open to all students in grades 7-12 Meets weekly on Thursdays, Room 929
Time 3:05–3:45 p.m.
Students will be growing edible crops — fig trees, starting seedlings, rooting cuttings (propagation).

IB Club Middle School

This group is open to anyone who wants to learn life lessons outside of the classroom, and the intricacies of navigating the high school to collegiate pathway.

National Honor Society Jr. High

Club Advisor: Ms. Boyle
Open to students in grades 7-8 with A/B Honor roll
Meets monthly on the fourth Thursday (all meeting dates are listed on the group page), in Room 927.
Time 3–4 p.m.
Students will perform at least 10 community service hours in the community, volunteering and sprucing up the community.

National Honor Society Sr. High

Meets on the first and third Tuesday of each month in the Resource Center.

Students will provide community service hours at Dater and within the community. Fundraising activities.

Newspaper Club

Open to all students in grades 7–12. Meets on Thursdays, in Room 2505.

Students will focus on creating a news-sharing space for students.

PBIS Club/Cougar Store

Club Advisor: Mrs. Yearout
Open to all students in grades 7–12.
Participate in distribution on Fridays during lunches (A, B and C).
Student advisors, along with advisors deliver Cougar cash rewards to students.

Scholarship and Career Club

Open to all students grades 9–12

The aim is to assist and support students with two of the three graduation goals: enlistment, employment and enrollment. Students will seek out opportunities for scholarships and hands-on learning (for careers) with trips and guest speakers.

Slam Poetry Club

Open to students in grades 9–12
Meets on Thursdays in Room 2506
Time 3:05–4:30 p.m.
Students will read, write and perform, and perfect poetry in a workshop environment with the option of competing in a city-wide competition, Louder than a Bomb.

Sophomore Class

Open to all 10th grade students
Meets biweekly on Thursdays, in Room 2601

Sophomores will plan one event and one fundraiser per quarter.

Theatre Arts Musical Club
